Case Studies / Organic Social
This Organic TikTok Growth case study breaks down how we helped ALX tap into TikTok’s youth audience to drive awareness for their tech programmes.
Over 3 months, ALX’s organic TikTok content reached 281K people, added 4,000 followers and delivered 23 TikToks. It is part of our social media management work.
ALX offers fully sponsored tech programmes to young South Africans, but awareness was the barrier. Many potential applicants had never heard of the opportunity, or were sceptical it was real.
Our brief was to tap into TikTok’s youth culture to change that: build genuine awareness of ALX’s programmes among the platform’s core audience, using real students already inside the programmes to put a credible, relatable face on the opportunity.
Facing scepticism about yet another “opportunity” ad, we built our TikTok strategy around proof, not promises. Real ALX students, already enrolled in the fully funded tech programmes, told their own stories on camera. No scripts, no polish.
Short, raw clips let the content ride TikTok’s algorithm naturally while giving sceptical viewers something scarce in that space: honest evidence. The result was a wave of genuine interest and registrations from young South Africans who trusted what they saw.
